Intro to Art Boxes

  • I am creating a personalized institutional memory of my work - I've struggled - as many artists have - over the years, to find a way of collecting/ working with/ and documenting my practice and have decided to use this website as that complete form of documentation.
  • Each project will live on this page as a snapshot and link to its own living documenation iterations and current state.
    • where it began
    • how it changed
    • what failed
    • what surprised me
    • what other projects it influenced
    • and where it led next
  • Twyla Tharp writes about beginning each new project with a banker box—a place to collect the fragments, references, failures, inspirations, and discoveries that eventually become a work.
  • This page is my digital version of that practice. Each Art Box traces the evolution of a project over time, from its earliest seeds to its latest branches. Some are complete. Most are still growing.

Statement

Statement

Statement

Art is complete when the artist connects with the viewer in such a way that the viewer becomes a participant and is inspired to also create.

I create immersive portals to question, explore,  and disrupt the real world and let other worlds leap, shuffle, dribble and

 leak into this one.

I explore the boundaries

of art, business,

and immersive experience.

Gratitude

Statement

Gratitude

It’s always struck me as odd that there are acknowledgments in books but not in the arts.

So here is my ongoing, ever-expanding list of those without whom, I could never have done a fraction of what I’ve done

and will do.

This list never seems complete. It always feels  like I'm leaving someone out, but the exercise is important to remind me of the source of creativity.
